A digital information outlet specialising in the total solar eclipse of August 2026 — the astronomical phenomenon of the century in Catalonia.
Eclipsi26.com is built to be the go-to source before, during and after 12 August: scientific content based on official sources (IGN, IEEC, NASA, National Astronomical Observatory), observation guides, a complete calendar of activities and events, and real-time live coverage of the eclipse.
The project does not end on 12 August. What we are building is a permanent historical archive of a phenomenon that will not be visible again from Catalonia until the year 2180.

The Generalitat de Catalunya identifies 20 accessible locations with good visibility within the path of totality. They are an excellent reference for the general public. But they are not all of them.
We have researched the official data of the Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN) and identified 221 municipalities in Catalonia with confirmed total eclipse: exact start, peak and end times of totality, and duration in seconds for each one.
More municipalities within the path means more options to choose your observation point, a greater chance of finding clear skies and fewer crowds. That information is freely available on eclipsi26.com.
Our recommendation: travel to your chosen municipality on 11 August. Check on the ground that you will have good visibility of the horizon, with no obstructions, and that you will be able to see the sunset the evening before. If the sky is clear and the spot is good, 12 August will be ready for you.
